About a week ago, part of the Vienna staff set out on the city hiking trail 2 in the direction of Herrmannskogel in glorious autumn weather and sunshine. The common meeting point and at the same time starting point was in a classic Austrian Buschenschank with sandwiches and drinks. After the small refreshment it went off also already up into the vineyards and further into the forest. Over hill and dale, the 7.5 km long hiking trail led us through the Vienna Woods up to the Herrmannskogel. Accompanied by a guided tour specially organized for us, we climbed the steps to the highest point in Vienna. From there we could enjoy a breathtaking view over the capital.
After enough time for an extensive photo session, we descended again and continued to the “Gasthaus zum Agnesbrünnl”. The way there was only short and led us across the Jägerwiese, past the horses, donkeys, pigs and other animals of the inn. After the hike, hunger and thirst were great, but not for long – because the drinks and “Brettljause” with bread, cheese, sausage, pickled vegetables and much more were a real treat! There was a lot of laughing, chatting and enjoying the time together after a long home office time. When it was already dark, we set off equipped with flashlights back towards the city. Strengthened and refreshed, the short walk went quickly until we reached the bus after a short time, which brought us back to the city center and the colleagues back home.
The walking day organized by the ombudsman team was a complete success and was highly praised by the colleagues. It was a great pleasure to see a large part of the staff again after such a long time!
The event was held in strict compliance with 3G rules.
